da apostaganha: Hooray, Premier League football is back after a two week period in the international break wilderness, and that means just one thing: Fantasy Football returns! A series of friendly matches, and a couple of actual EURO 2016 qualifiers, have had little bearing on squads across the nation, so for the first time in what feels like an eternity our squad enters the coming gameweek with a relatively clean bill of health.
da brdice: Just in case you’re not up with what’s going on at Football FanCast Towers, we’re letting YOU pick our team for us this season. Transfers and the selection of a captain are down to you lot, and the results have been fairly positive so far – well, we’re not at the bottom of any leagues entered in to just yet!
This week we want to get rid of Bafetimbi Gomis. Since an early season flurry made the Frenchman a must-have player, his, and Swansea’s, form has dipped, and with £0.1m in the bank, getting rid leaves us with £6.9m in total to spend, which is enough to get one of the current over-performing budget options in.
Assess the FIVE we’ve selected and vote below for the one YOU want by midday Friday.
Odion Ighalo – The top scoring forward priced below £7.0m, Ighalo has been Watford’s main threat – he’s scored seven of the Hornets’ 11 in league action.
Arouna Kone – Having started up front alongside Romelu Lukaku in recent weeks, the Ivorian is bafflingly cheap at £4.8m. A hat-trick against Sunderland shows that he still has what it takes after an injury-hit spell.
Ayoze Perez – Newcastle’s improved form has coincided with Perez’s recent rise. Technically adept and looking good playing off Aleksandar Mitrovic, at £5.1m he’s a bargain.
Salomon Rondon – The big Venezuelan appears to be settling in now in English football and has netted twice in his last three games.
Rudy Gestede – Can Remi Garde get something from his new Aston Villa side? If so his giant centre-forward may be crucial.
