da 888casino: Everton manager Sam Allardyce has insisted that the club are working on bringing in reinforcements this month.
da lvbet: Throughout the season, the Toffees’ attacking presence has been lacklustre – netting just 25 goals across 22 Premier League games.
Since Allardyce became Ronald Koeman’s permanent successor in November, results have improved and the club have climbed out of the relegation zone.
As it stands, Everton are ninth in the league table following three wins, three draws and two defeats, of which were recently suffered back to back.
Since selling Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United in the summer, the Merseyside club have struggled to impose a threat up front.
In fact, the team have scored just once in their last four top-flight fixtures, which has led Allardyce to hunt for a new striker.
The experienced manager has admitted that the club are working on a deal to bring in Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun, but it does not appear to be straightforward.
The Mirror quotes Allardyce as saying:
“Our attacking powers are limited – that’s why I’ve worked so hard on keeping clean sheets. We need to strengthen the front line. We’re trying to do the hardest job of all by securing a player in that position. We’re trying and until that happens, we have to maintain our defensive solidarity.
“We’ve done all we can [in Tosun deal]. We’ll know in the next 24 hours if we’re successful or not. We need a bigger goalscoring threat than we have at the moment.”
