da betobet: AC Milan are hopeful of wrapping up a permanent deal to sign Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong on Friday, Sky Sports claim.
The Netherlands international has fallen behind the likes of Yaya Toure, Gareth Barry and James Milner in Roberto Mancini’s preferences, and with the summer signing of Jack Rodwell the battler’s chances of playing have been reduced.
De Jong is said to have flown to Italy on Thursday, with the Premier League champions ready and willing to part with the former Hamburg man.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men are going through something of a transition period after selling Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, whilst a raft of their older players have also left the club.
The Rossoneri have confirmed that a deal for De Jong looks likely.
“De Jong is on his way to Milan. The medical will be performed tomorrow,” a brief statement on the club’s website reads, translated to English by Sky Sports.
As yet a prospective fee has not been touted.
