da premier bet: According to a recent report from The Sun, Marcelo Bielsa is hoping to secure a bargain deal for Tottenham outcast Fernando Llorente in the January transfer window, but here at Football FanCast we want to know whether you think he is really the best fit for this new-look Leeds side.
The Sun reports that Spurs are keen to offload the 33-year-old in January before his contract expires in the summer, and that he could be available for as little as £4m after failing to get his Tottenham career off the ground since his £12.1m move from Swansea in 2017.
Bielsa managed the Spaniard at Athletic Bilbao before the striker’s move to Juventus five years ago, but the pair could now be in line for a winter reunion at Elland Road.
However, the Argentine boss has brought a high-tempo, high-pressing system to Leeds which Kemar Roofe has exemplified when starting up front, and this is the complete opposite to Llorente’s game.
There is no doubt that 6ft 4in hitman is a talented player, but he might not be the best fit for Leeds as they look to secure promotion to the Premier League.
So, Leeds fans, would you be keen on a move for Llorente or are there better options? Have your say by voting in the poll below.
