da betsul: Having starred against Arsenal last weekend, Hamza Choudhury has now been charged by the FA for historical comments he made on social media.
The midfielder made racist and sexist remarks on Twitter back in 2013 and 2014 which then resurfaced during last week’s win. The 21-year-old apologised earlier in the week but that didn’t spare him from the FA’s punishment.
Reacting to a thread on Twitter, Leicester fans were enraged that he had been charged. One supporter said that words failed them, whilst another individual tweeted it was one of the most bizarre things they could remember.
Another fan labelled the FA clueless and the attack on the governing body didn’t stop there with a further tweet slamming them as incompetent.
Choudhury has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign at the King Power but this will come as a huge setback.
The midfield man has appeared in seven Premier League matches this term, starring against the likes of Chelsea. After his display in the Foxes’ win over Arsenal last weekend, he looked as though he could be set for a run in the team.
However, that may now change after his charge.
Here’s the best of the reaction.
